Esta é a 5ª edição de um exercício governativo que já tem vindo a ser conduzido desde 2006. O projecto terá a duração de 3 meses sendo o término previsto para Novembro de 2010.

AustralCOWI is presently implementing the above project in association with SWECO (lead consultant), Consultec and COWI Zimbabwe (formerly Interconsult (Zimbabwe). The Project officially commenced in April 2010 and is expected to end in March 2012.
The Buzi Project is one of a number of three river basin management projects AustralCOWI is presently working on. Two other two similar projects are currently being implemented, the Rovuma and Save river basin projects in association with SEWECO and COWI-DK, respectively. SWECO was the lead consul-tant on a similar project for the Pungwe River Basin which was completed in 2006. |

Participatory Urban Vulnerability Mapping for Maxixe and Inhambane _Moz |

AustralCOWI is conducted a study in association with BRGM (a French consulting firm) for the World Bank entitled, Natural Hazards and Climate Change Risk Mapping- Participatory Urban Requalification for Inhambane and Maxixe. The study's three main objectives are to develop a reproducible methodology for proposing mitigation measures and participatory urban requalification of highly vulnerable areas in cities. In addition this study aims to make relevant stakeholders sensitive to the impact of coastal disasters and climate change in order to better prepare them to deal with natural disasters and other emergency situations and to propose adaptation measures that would increase the global resilience of the populations in the face of natural hazards and climate change.

Water resource management in Mozambique, Swaziland and RSA
July 14, 2010: Rivers are water moving without borders. What happens upstream directly affects the conditions downstream, and downstream might very often happen to be in another country… Bad water resource management in one country might have devastating consequences in another country. And well reasoned initiatives in one riparian state might have limited effect if not coordinated with the other countries sharing the same rivers. |
